James “Dale” Brannon, 84, of Albuquerque, New Mexico passed away on Friday, April 26th, 2019 surrounded by family.
He was born to parents, Dimmitt and Bessie Brannon on March 28, 1935 in Mountainair, New Mexico. He graduated from Carlsbad High School in 1954 and joined the Navy immediately following graduation, serving 4 ½ years. He married Rosetta Moore on August 10, 1959 at Bethel Baptist Church in the South Valley of Albuquerque. He enjoyed a long, successful career with the FAA as an Electronic Technician and retired after 34 years. He was asked to return to the same job under Raytheon for another 3 years. His hobbies included bowling, hunting and fishing with cousins, and spending time with family. He was a master craftsman and loved working in his shop. His specialty was woodworking and he enjoyed creating toys for his grandsons and furniture for his kids. He was devoted to his faith and was an active member of First Baptist Church for years until moving his membership to Eastern Hills Baptist Church later in life.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Rosetta; daughters, Roxanne and husband, Wes, Rhonda and husband, Amos; son, Kevin, daughter Melinda; and four grandsons, Corey, Travis, Tyler and Alec. He is also survived by his brother, Dwayne and sisters, June and Kathy; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
His Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2019, 10:00 at Eastern Hills Baptist Church, 3100 Morris St NE, Albuquerque, NM 87111. He will be buried at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
