James (Jim) Robert Whitson, born on December 4, 1954, in Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2026, in Albuquerque. He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Stephanie Whitson; his son, Jay Bloom; his daughter, Jenny Ferguson; and his daughter, Whitney Seabrease. Jim cherished the time spent with his eight grandchildren, who brought immense joy to his life.

Jim built an admirable career as a Financial and Insurance Advisor, over a distinguished career of 47 years. His dedication to his work was matched only by his passion for living life to the fullest. An avid sports fan, he reveled in college football games, golf rounds, and baseball outings. He embraced every opportunity to travel by car, creating countless unforgettable memories with family, friends, and fellow sports enthusiasts.

In 2002, Jim received the remarkable gift of a heart transplant, a second chance at life that he honored by bringing awareness to organ donation. His remaining years were marked by adventures and experiences that emphasized the importance of family gatherings and building meaningful connections. Jim partially retired in 2025 to enjoy more leisure time, reflecting his commitment to family and friends above all else.

Jim's spirit and zest for life will be profoundly missed by all who knew him, but his legacy of love, friendship, and dedication will continue to inspire those he left behind. Details regarding
Jim's Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.

James was preceded in death by his parents, Ralph & Marjorie Whitson.
