James Craig Pacini

Jim Pacini, born August 3, 1961, in Albuquerque, NM, to James and Claudia Pacini. He passed away on October 8th, 2026 in Rio Rancho, NM.

He spent his life in Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, where he built a family, friendships, memories, and caused a bit of mischief. He lived with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) for many years, meeting intense challenges with courage and grit.

Jim was married to Karen for 43 years, father to Marisa & Alicia, and proud Papa to Savannah, Sawyer & Malcom. He felt lucky to have sons-in-law, Ronald & Jacob. He is also survived by his brother, John and mother-in-law, Adrienne and extended family.

He grew up with a free spirited, hippie heart... a rebel in the best way. Tie dye shirts, Grateful Dead tunes, and love for adventure were woven into who he was. He carried that spirit throughout his life, bringing color, humor, and authenticity everywhere he went.

A retired middle school science and technology teacher that also taught spec. ed and gifted for over 27 years. Jim inspired countless students with his curiosity, creativity, and hands-on approach to learning. He believed in questioning everything, exploring often, and never losing your sense of wonder. In his classroom and everywhere else, he advocated for "Equality and Respect for All!"

He was a loyal fan of the Chicago Cubs & New Mexico United soccer team. He enjoyed 4-wheeling adventures, boating, reading, gaming & music. He loved animals and built his own little "zoo" over the years - snakes, lizards, ferrets & more. His two labs, Marley and Luna, remained his loyal companions in the end.

Jim will be remembered for his humor, his rebellious streak, and his love for his family. His spirit lives on in the stories shared, the music he loved, and the people he shaped.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday October 25, 2026, from 10 am to 1 pm at Explora, Rotary Pavilion in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

In lieu of flowers or gifts, the family invites donations to Multiple Sclerosis Society or encourages you to honor Jim by paying it forward to someone else.
