James Kaley

James Kaley, age 95, a devoted husband to Bobbie and a beloved father to six children, passed away on August 11, 2026. Jim was known for his kind heart and dedication to his family and faith.

Born to John and Anne Kaley, he and his older sister, Mary-Anne were raised in the surrounding areas of Niles and Warren Ohio. At the age of 21, he joined the US Navy, where he severed from 1951 to 1955 as an Aircraft-Engine-Mechanic. Upon discharge, he went to Aeronautical school and received a degree in Aviation Mechanics. After graduation he moved to Michigan started work at North Central Airlines.

In 1958, James married Bobbie-Anne Shaffer and had six children, joined St. Simon and Jude's church, where he became very active in several committees such as The Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul, and the local Dad's club that created baseball teams to keep the local kids busy during the summers.

In 1993, he retired to New Mexico where he joined St. Ann's Church and once again became an active member. He will always be remembered as a kind and loving person who was devoted to his family and his church community.

James is survived by his six children, James K. Kaley, Judith K. Kaley, Jill K. Leach, David L. Kaley, Lydia A. Parmenter, Andera L. Mendoza and his sister-in-law, Sheryl Shaffer. He leaves behind five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, 9:00 a.m., at St. Ann's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal Rd SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105, with the Rosary beginning at 8:15 a.m. James will be interred at a later time.
