On Friday, June 12, 2026, James Adam Stewart was called Home. Known by his friends and family as Jim, he was born in Omaha, Nebraska, a place that remained part of his story throughout his life. After graduating from Benson High School, he left Omaha to serve his country as a proud member of the United States Navy. During his years of service, Jim traveled the world, protecting his country both with and without his family by his side. He was proud of his country and believed in the value of service to protect his home and those he loved.
Jim was not always a man of many words, but the love he had for his wife, family, and friends was felt deeply by everyone who knew him. No matter the challenges life brought, he remained resilient, guided by his deep faith, integrity, and strong moral values. Those who loved him will remember his quiet strength, his special sense of humor, and the way he showed his love through loyalty, presence, and care. He especially enjoyed traveling with his wife, Marty, well into retirement, visiting favorite people and places and making memories along the way. Jim was a dearly beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend, and his presence will be missed more than words can say.
Jim leaves behind his loving wife of more than 30 years, Marty; his brother Al; his daughters Angie (Robert), Jeanne (George), and Catherine; and his stepdaughter, Elise (Tim). He will also leave behind by his grandchildren Rachel, Matthew, Nicholas and Kaleo; his great-grandson Kylian; his nephew Dan; and his niece Ali; his great-niece Cassidy (Adam); his great-nephews Ryan and Ramsey, and his great-great niece Emmy.
He is preceded in death by his parents William and Catherine, his sister-in-law Shirley, and his stepson David.
