Jack M. Martin, age 85, a life-long resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, April 26, 2017. He is survived by his children, Cheryl A. Martin, Norma L. Martin and spouse, Mike Tapia, John A. Martin and wife, Chris, Dale W. Martin and wife, Gail, and Jack M. Martin, Jr. and partner, Melody; two grandchildren, Breana Martin and Veronica Martin; sister, Frances Lee Elam; and other relatives and friends.  Jack was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Martin; and one sister, Rose Ellen “Rosie” Calkins.  He was born in 1931 in Kokomo, Indiana and as a young child moved with his parents, John and Frances Martin to Albuquerque. He graduated from Albuquerque High. Jack was rejected from the draft and got a job with Southern Union Gas Company as a midnight to eight radio dispatcher and worked his way up to a serviceman/supervisor, retiring after 42 years from PNM. He loved building and riding motorcycles and tinkering with anything automotive. Jack was a dedicated husband and father, working his entire life to provide for his family.  He will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Gathering will take place at a later date.
