Irma Esther Winn, age 100, affectionately known as "Sug," was born and raised on her family's farm in Gladstone, Missouri in 1926. She remained there until 1945 when She, met a handsome young soldier, (Army Air Corp.) sergeant, Howard H. Winn, who had just discharged. They married in 1946, and due to financial hardships, Howard re-enlisted in the US Air Force in 1947.

During Howard's military career, they traveled to Texas, where their first son, Gary, was born. They were then transferred to California, where their second son, Dennis, was born. Then, when Howard was transferred to the Philippines in 1953, Sug and the 2 boys returned to her parents' farm. Eventually, Howard and family returned to the Philippines. Further military assignments took the family to other foreign and domestic locations.

In 1954, a daughter, Cheryl, was born to them in Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas. Sug and Howard eventually retired and moved to 10 acres in Mena, Arkansas.

When Howard passed away in 2013, Sug moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico to be with her daughter, Cheryl and husband, Bob and Family.
