Ilene V. Timmons

Age 97, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 in Farmington, NM. She was born March 15, 1916 in Otis, KS. Ilene was preceded in death by her husband, William Schwab, Sr., as well as her second husband, Sam Timmons. Her son, William Schwab, Jr. also preceded her in death. Ilene was born and raised in Otis, KS. She and her husband moved to Albuquerque in 1935, where she spent her life until relocating to the Bridge, an Assisted Living facility, in Farmington to be closer to family. She loved to fish, including night fishing, and had many precious memories of times spent with family on fishing trips. Ilene was active in her church, Harwood Methodist (now Grace United Methodist Church) and she coveted the relationship she had with fellow church members. Ilene worked at the NM DMV. She was also employed as Secretary at Taft Middle School, Ernie Pyle Middle School, and Albuquerque High School. After retirement, she and Sam Timmons lived at the Vineyard on Edith Blvd. They traveled throughout the United States in their RV and were affiliated with the Good Sam Club, and Zia Roamers. Her last years were spent at the Life Care Center of Farmington. She was very content with her residency and was beloved by staff, nurses, aids and friends. Services will be held Friday, July 19, 2013, 2:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming.
