Ila Pauline Barr, aged 87 passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 1, 2025. Born on May 16, 1938.
Ila was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and even great great grandmother through extended family. Ila loved animals and never turned an animal away. She as a small child grew up on their family dairy farm in the south Valley of Albuquerque. She carried this love of dairy animals and farming into a life career as she moved to Fallon NV in September of 1986 and started her own Jersey dairy farm.
You might say milk ran through her veins. She was a very successful dairy farmer.
As a business owner and member of the community her dairy received several awards for production and quality. She devoted over 20 years to this profession and in 2001 she retired and moved back to Albuquerque, NM and lived in Sandia Park near her daughter. She was known for her love of flowers and birds.
She was an avid bird lover and fed 400+ hummingbirds a year. She had two small dogs and devoted time to their care as well. She was very involved in family gatherings and enjoyed spending time with her children and family whenever possible.

"We will wait with bated breath till we see you again"
God made a wonderful mother, A mother who never grows old; He made her smile of the sunshine, And He moulded her heart of pure gold; In her eyes He placed bright shining stars, In her cheeks fair roses you see; God made a wonderful mother, And He gave that dear mother to me. -Pat O'Reilly-
The family wishes to express their thanks to all those loving "angels" who cared for her throughout her life.
Our thanks to Rio Grande Hospice for their loving care and kindness as well.
