Horacio (Sanchez) Sanchez

October 25, 1927 — November 22, 2019

Horacio “Shina” Sanchez, age 92, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 22, 2019. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Ann; sons, Chester and Bernie; his parents, Juan and Clarita Sanchez. Shina is survived by his son, Randy (Kathy) and family; sister, Lita Garcia and family; his grandchildren; great-grandchildren; niece, Bunny O’Brien and family; niece, Liz Espinosa; and caregiver, Robert Jaramillo and family. Horacio was an Army Veteran of WWII, member of American Legion Post 69. He worked for the U.S Postal Service as a mechanic for over 20 years. Always kept busy helping his friends work on their automobiles, trucks, and tractors and never expected anything in return, maybe just some Old Milwaukee. Thank you to staff of Preferred Assisted Living and Phil Candelaria, his barber he would go give him a haircut and shave monthly. Military Honors will be provided by American Legion Post 69 Honor Guard. A Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, 8:00 a.m. with a Rosary to follow by Deacon Andy Chavez at FRENCH – University. Interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. to Santa Fe National Cemetery.
