Harold (Warner) Warner

August 25, 1921 — March 3, 2018

Harold Warner,  96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1960, passed away on Saturday, March 3, 2018.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Shirley; his sons, Terry Warner and wife, Neatice of Carrollton, TX, David Warner and wife, Carol of Prospect, KY, Glenn Warner and wife, Mona of the Woodlands TX;  nine grandchildren; and  seven great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Gayle Patterson.

Harold was born on August 25,1921 and grew up in Chicago, Illinois as the oldest son of Lester and Martha Warner.  He joined the Navy in World War II and served in the Pacific Fleet for the war.  He again served in the Navy during the Korean War and was honorably discharged. After his WWII service he married the love of his life Shirley Lorraine Nancarrow and they have been happily married since September 22, 1945 for 72 years. They migrated west with family to Phoenix, Arizona and then to Albuquerque in 1960. Harold built his own home from the ground up on the back side of the Sandia Mountains with the help of his sons Terry, David, and Glenn. He was extremely proud of this little jewel of his life and continued to drive down to Albuquerque for his swim exercise with Shirley through age 92. He was a distribution sales manager in the emerging electronics components business in New Mexico, working in various companies, retiring with Arrow Electronics in 1986. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather.  Harold loved all his family and they came first in his life. Harold and family attended Hope Church in Albuquerque for over five decades.

A Memorial Service will be held Friday, March 9, 2018, 10:00 a.m. at FRENCH – Lomas. Harold will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Harold’s name to your preferred Veteran’s Support Fund.
