Harold "Hal" Linker

d. January 14, 2017

Harold "Hal" Linker, 88, an Albuquerque resident since 1959, entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 14th.

Hal was the son of Frederick and Natalie (Bauer) Linker of Ft. Morgan, CO. He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard, and sister, Virginia. Hal was a devoted family man, a friend to many, a dedicated employee, a helper to those in need, a visionary who built ideas into products, an enthusiastic sports fan, and a lover of pets. During his high school years, he played football, basketball, and ran track. After graduating high school, he entered the electrician trade and eventually became a master electrician. In 1950, he married Marilyn Johnston, his high school sweetheart. They moved to Long Beach, CA when he was called to service in the Coast Guard during the Korean War. Upon his discharge, he returned to CO to help his brother-in-law, Carl Johnston, manage the family ranch. When the ranch was sold, Hal enrolled in electronics school in Kansas City, MO. Upon earning his degree in 1959, he was recruited by Sandia National Laboratories. He retired after 30 years of service and devoted his time to golf and family. Besides playing golf, he invented and patented a product to help golfers carry their belongings on carts. As a result, a successful business, ForeLinks LLC, was created. Hal and Marilyn shared a love of travel and after many miles by car, plane, and ship their travel dreams were fulfilled.

In addition to his wife; he is survived by son, Kevin (Linda), grandsons Kyle and Taylor; daughter, Kimberly, grandson Trey Thunborg (Brandy) and granddaughters Kacey and Jenna Thunborg. The family wishes to thank all who provided comfort and care to Hal: Dr. Jill Lyons, Alliance Home Health Care, Home Care Assistance, and Presbyterian Hospice. A special thanks and appreciation to his compassionate and dedicated caregivers: Julia, Eric, Kathleen, and Rizza.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, January 28, 2017, 10:30 am at French Mortuary 10500 Lomas NE. Interment will take place at a later date in Ft. Morgan, CO.
