His education started with graduating from Sunnyside, a one room rural country eight grade school. Based on teachings in life from his parents and his family he had the belief that one should be involved in helping one's fellow human beings. He sought to accomplish that through his various occupations during his life.

First was Providing nutrition through spending the first 18 years of his life assisting in operation of the family farm which produced grain, beef and pork.

Second was Providing spiritual guidance through serving as a Ordained Lutheran Pastor for some years serving congregations in Iowa and California.

Third was Providing health education through serving as the Assistant Director of Field Services for The National American Heart Association as well as Executive Director of the New Mexico Heart Association.

Fourth was Providing physical habitation facilities through real estate sales, appraisals and serving as Executive Vice President of the Albuquerque Board of REALTORS.

Favorite scripture: "For by grace you have been saved through faith; and this is not your own doing, it is the gift of God - not because of works, lest any man should boast" Ephesians 2, 8-9
