Guadalupe Volpert

October 13, 1944 — March 17, 2024

Lupe Volpert, 79, She was a dedicated caregiver, military wife, mom, mother-in-law, friend, grandmother, and great grandma. She passed away on Sunday March 17th, 2024. She lived on Becker Ave in Belen with her parents. My mom graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1962. She was accepted for enlistment in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1963. She was part of the Woman Recruit Battalion - Platoon 8-A - Parris Island, S.C. She was Honorable Discharge in 1963 for health reasons. She worked at UNM Hospital, New Mexico School for the Blind & Visually Impaired, APS, and City of Albuquerque. My mom was well known for her great love for music, dance, watching the classic tv shows/movies, her love for Christmas, being a wonderful pet mom to Dudley (RIP) and R-Go and a great grandparent to her grand-fur-babies. She has been an Albuquerque resident for the past 42+ years. She loved collecting holiday barbies, Elvis, Mariachi music, Christmas ornaments, and Christmas Villages. My mom was a survivor, strong, wise woman, and she was the heart of our family. She is survived by her children, Eugene Volpert and wife Melissa, Loyola Volpert, Patrick Volpert, and Olivia Warren and husband Murray, Sisters Enedina Rivera and Helen Harman, and many nieces and great nieces, nephews and great nephews, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe Leonardo and Olimpia LaGrange, siblings Celina Tello, Mary Nick and husband Paul E. Nick, Rosalie and husband Ricardo Espinosa, Filimon Tello and wife Josie, Joe LaGrange Jr., her nephews Carmel, Michael Tello, Lawrence Perea, her granddaughter Meagan Rae Bess, and longtime best friend Ernestine Chavez. A visitation will be held Thursday, April 4th 2024 5:00 PM - 6:00 PM Rosary will follow at the FRENCH- Lomas. Funeral Service Friday, April 5th 2024 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM at The Shrine of Saint Bernadette, 11509 Indian School RD NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Graveside Service Friday April 5th 2024 Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Pallbearers are Ricky Espinoza, Andrew Maestas, Leonard Rivera, Raul Rivera, Alexander Volpert, Connor Volpert and Honorary Pallbearer is Murray J. Warren. Memorial contributions may be made in my mom's name and Meagan Rae Bess (please put their names in the memo field of your check) mail to NMSBVI 1900 N. White Sands Blvd. Alamogordo, NM 88310.
