Guadalupe (Lupe) Salazar, age 93, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday morning. September 2, 2026.

Lupe was born on January 26, 1933 to Andres Garcia and Anita (Griego) Garcia. She was the eldest of 6 sisters.

Lupe was a lifelong resident of Carnuel, New Mexico.

Lupe was proceeded in death by her husband of 56 years, Antonio J. Salazar, son Gilbert Salazar, daughter-in-law Isabel Salazar, and granddaughter Monica Salazar Nunez.

She is survived by her four children: Faustino Salazar (Margarita), Jack Salazar (Lena), Michael Salazar, and Brenda Griego (Christopher). She was also blessed with 10 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 6 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews who adored her.

Lupe was deeply loved by family and friends. She will be remembered for her strength, unconditional love for her family, generosity, and the countless lives she touched throughout her 93 years.

Her memory will be cherished forever.

Pallbearers for the service will be Gabriel Flores, Jonathan Flores, Saul Nunez, Derek Griego, Joseph Garcia and Brandon Funk.

A rosary will be recited on Wednesday, September 9, 2026 - Holy Child Catholic Church at 9:30am with a funeral mass to follow directly after at 10:00am. A graveside service will be held at Canon Del Carnuel Cemetery.
