Gracy C. Schramm, 92, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, entered eternal rest on Saturday, February 7, 2026, from natural causes.
Gracy moved through the world with quiet kindness and insurmountable love. Her generosity showed up in small, faithful ways. With open arms, she welcomed family, friends, and many stray dogs throughout the years and fed the neighborhood cats. She was genuinely loving, and her sweet smile and warm laughter were undeniably true to the heart. Her presence brought comfort, joy, and grace to everyone who knew her-her name fitting her spirit in every way.
She attended St. Michael's School and graduated from Fort Sill Indian School. She later continued her education at the Anderson School of Management, which prepared her for a dedicated career with E.F. Hutton. There, she oversaw new policyholders and eventually rose to the position of director. In every role, she carried herself with professionalism, kindness, and integrity.
Gracy shared 62 beautiful years of marriage with her beloved husband, Sammy Schramm. Together they created a lifetime of memories camping, fishing, and hunting. She especially cherished listening to Sammy play his fiddle, banjo, and guitar-music that filled their home and hearts.
A lovely homemaker, her kitchen was never empty of warmth. There was always something baked, always something wrapped and pressed into our hands before we left, as if love could be carried home.
In her free time, with needle and thread, she made beauty-clothes worn with pride, quilts stitched with love and memory. Gracy expressed her creativity through crocheting and embroidery; every piece she made reflected special intricacy and was crafted with love. Her hands were rarely still, always creating something meaningful for those she cared about.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mike Arviso and Ka-Ha-Bah Shirley; her siblings, Mary Arviso Allison, Elizabeth Hoskie, Thelma "Ida" Hovel, Alice Beleen, Blanche Arviso, Jonah Arviso, Phillip Arviso, and Ned Arviso, and Herbert Arviso.
Gracy is survived by her devoted husband, Sammy Schramm of Albuquerque; beloved family members: her sister, Alberta Smith of Albuquerque, Mark Mondragon and Reina Mondragon of Albuquerque; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins who will continue to carry her memory in their hearts.
Gracy's grace, generosity, and unwavering love will be deeply missed, but the legacy of her kindness will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
