Gilbert Montano

Gilbert Montano, beloved Uncle, Son, Brother, and Friend was called to his eternal resting place on July 31, 2025. He entered this world on April 25, 1945 in Santa Monica, CA, born to Justina Montano.

He was humorous, positive, and quirky. He was so silly and loved to make his family laugh. He was a simple person and happy to take in life one day at a time. He loved being with his family and had a special relationship with his aunts. He once got on a train from Albuquerque, New Mexico and came out to see his sister and his niece and nephew in California. He met his partner Don in California and they moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico where they lived for the past 30 years.

He was preceded in death by his partner, Don Dowell. He is survived by his brothers and sister, many nieces and nephews, and very many people who loved him.

Private interment services will be taking place at Sunset Memorial park to have him laid to rest with Don.
