Gilbert Herrera

Age 85, passed away Sunday, November 11, 2012 after a long illness. Gilbert is survived by his children, Rick Herrera, Steve (Jennifer) Herrera, Tina (Mark) Bradley, Lydia (Paul) Matthews and Belinda (Henri) Termeer; grandchildren, Michael, Julie, Marcus, Shayla, Jacob, Derek and Adriana; five great-grandchildren; sisters, Bella Saley and Rita Herther; and brothers, Alex Herrera, Ralph Herrera and Ronnie Herrera. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sadie Herrera; parents, Antonio and Maria Herrera; daughter, Mela Martin; sister, Vangie Lovato; and brothers, Joseph Herrera, Iggy Herrera, Herb Herrera, Ray Herrera and Tony Herrera. Gilbert had a great sense of humor, loved taking walks, playing the guitar, listening to country music and admiring nature. He enjoyed writing poems for his grandchildren and creating art. Gilbert will be deeply missed by his friends and family. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, November 14, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Wyoming. Friends may visit beginning at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, November 15, 2012 at 9:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made in Gilbert's memory to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church.
