Geraldine "Gerry" Irene (Chaty) Anderson

Geraldine “Gerry” Irene Anderson (Chaty), age 90, a loving mother, grandmother and great- grandmother passed away October 19, 2017 at Elmcroft Assisted Living, Albuquerque. Originally from Trenton, New Jersey, and known for her positive attitude and caring nature, lived in Los Lunas, NM and then for her last five months of life Elmcroft Assisted Living, Albuquerque. Gerry passed away into the arms of Jesus surrounded by four of her children. She is preceded in death by her husband Richard Howard Anderson, her parents Joseph Chaty and Suszanna Koleszar (Chaty), both from Hungary. She is survived by two brothers, seven children, nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Her two surviving brothers include Robert Chaty and William Chaty; children include Cynthia Anderson, Mark Anderson, Alane Anderson, Raymond Anderson, Ann Stageman, Ruth Corgill and Joyce Richards. Grandchildren include Zachary Anderson, Nathan Eubank, Jason Eubank, Seth Anderson, Matthew Anderson, Christine Vaughan, Steven Roop, Jeremy Roop and Joshua Richards. Great-grandchildren include Kambrynn Boland-Anderson, Madison Eubank, Bailey Eubank, Harper Eubank, Anderson Vaughan, Austin Vaughan and Emery Vaughan. Spouses include Gina Anderson, Chris Stageman, David Corgill, Craig Richards, Amanda Eubank, Ryan Vaughan and Eliza Roop.

Gerry was raised in Trenton, New Jersey. In 1957, she moved to New Mexico where she and her husband Richard Howard Anderson raised their seven children. (Richard preceded her in death after 35 years of marriage.) Gerry was proud of her Hungarian heritage, enjoyed politics, New Mexico history, sewing and was an avid reader.

Funeral services will be held Friday, November 3, 2017, 5:00 p.m., with visitation from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming.
