George E. Connor II
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Friend

George E. Connor II, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away peacefully on Monday, July 14, 2025. He was 86 years old.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma and raised in Pryor, OK, George lived a life marked by integrity, kindness, and quiet strength. A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, he touched the lives of all who knew him with his warm heart, steady presence, and gentle wisdom.

George was a 1961 graduate of Oklahoma State University where he studied business, was a member of the Sigma Nu fraternity, and, more importantly, met his future wife, Kathy. He also received his MBA from OSU in 1964. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and reserves, and went on to build a successful career at Sandia Laboratories in Albuquerque. George retired in 2007 after 43 years of distinguished service at the Labs. Known for his deep work ethic and thoughtful leadership, he earned the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

Beyond his professional accomplishments, George was a man of many passions. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, mystery novels, and his beloved Lobos! An Eagle Scout and resourceful scout master, George loved exploring the outdoors throughout the Land of Enchantment. His greatest joy was time spent with family-especially his grandchildren, who adored their "G-Dad." George was an active member of the Central United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, serving as greeter and board volunteer. George also volunteered with the United Way, Bernalillo County Open Space, and Sandia Heights Homeowners Association.

George is survived by Kathaleen (Jones), his beloved wife of 64 years; his sons Brady (Lynne) and Tim (Carol); his three granddaughters, Mary, Annie and Hope; his sister Nancy Fenton (Mike) and many dear friends and extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eliza Jane (Brady).

Services will be arranged for a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in George's name to Central United Methodist Church (Albuquerque), Boy Scouts of America or a charity of your choice.
