George Alexander Baca

George Alexander Baca (GAB), age 84, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, joined his Heavenly Father on December 20, 2023. He is survived by his wife of 21 years, Bertha Baca; his 4 children, Jennifer VanBergen, Jude Baca, Jillian Goodmacher, and Amy Baca Lopez from his former wife, Rita L. Baca; his 6 grandchildren, Taylor and Katelyn VanBergen, Kodiak and Jaxson Baca, Abigail and Lily Goodmacher; his sister, Cecilia Butler; and his stepson, Marc Rostro.

He served in the United States Air Force for 4 years, and 3 years in the Air National Guard. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after 35 years of service. He was a passionate woodworker and builder, and became a licensed contractor after retirement, and spent many days in his Bear Shop. He adored his family very much, and especially enjoyed time with his great-grandson Knox.

George (Alex) was very dedicated to his Catholic Faith.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 29th, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., at Prince of Peace Catholic Church, 12500 Carmel Ave NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122, with burial to follow. Rosary to be held on Thursday, December 28th, 2023, at 6:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside.

Pallbearers will be Gregory VanBergen, Charles Goodmacher, Kodiak Baca, Jaxson Baca, Marc Rostro, and Andy Herman.
