Frieda D. Sebastian

Frieda Dee Sebastian, age 84, former resident of Santa Fe, NM and Albuquerque passed away on April 18, 2024, at the Lovelace Hospital in Albuquerque after a long illness. Frieda was born May 8, 1939, in Albuquerque New Mexico to Jennie and Fred Matney and was adopted by Reynold Sebastian. Frieda is preceded in death by her parents Jennie and Reynold Sebastian.

Frieda is survived by cousins: Ann Sebastian of Santa Rosa, CA, Beverly Pecotte (Richard) of Farmington, NM, Terri Sebastian of Santa Fe, NM, Harry Yob of Glendale, CA, Mark Edwards (Sue) of Carlsbad, NM, Art Michael of Santa Fe, NM, and Barbara Michael of Santa Fe, NM.

She was a proud resident of Santa Fe and Albuquerque. She graduated from Santa Fe High School, Class of 1957. She received a BA from College of Santa Fe in 1981. She had many fur baby cats that she loved dearly. Frieda worked at the College of Santa Fe until she retired. Frieda enjoyed modeling clothing, painting, and was an avid reader. She also loved going to new restaurants in Santa Fe.

The family especially wants to thank Tanja Fitzgerald, Brad Lackey, Katherine Jackson, Marie Medley, Danny Levison, and Gilbert Roybal for their loving support to Frieda during difficult times.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at 9:00 AM at Saint Therese of the Infant Jesus Catholic Church located at 3424 Fourth St NW ABQ, NM 87107. Interment will take place in the family plot in Raton, NM in the near future.
