Fred Reincke, age 96, passed away on June 24, 2025, in Albuquerque, NM. Fred was born on April 21, 1929, to Fred and Louise Reincke in Castalia, Iowa, as the youngest of seven children. As a child he was baptized and confirmed in the Christian faith. Fred faithfully attended church all the days of His life. He was a member for many years at First Presbyterian Church, then Faith in Christ Lutheran Church, and more recently he enjoyed attending Sandia Presbyterian with his daughter and son-in-law.
Fred was raised in Postville, Iowa. In 1949, after graduating high school, Fred joined the US Air Force. In 1950, he met Mabel Sherwood through mutual friends. Fred and Mabel were married on October 3, 1951, at First Presbyterian Church in Albuquerque, NM. They celebrated 69 years of married life together until Mabel's passing in April of 2021. Their marriage was blessed with two children, Pearl and Kenneth. Fred faithfully served his country for 20 years, working in Base Operations for the US Air Force. He was deployed to Japan, Thailand, and Korea, and was stationed in Washington, California, Missouri, and New Mexico. After he retired from the service, Fred worked as an accountant for Richard Distributing and H&R Block until he retired.
Fred enjoyed the routines of everyday life. He enjoyed gardening, reading his daily devotional, watching baseball - especially the St. Louis Cardinals, and working diligently on both jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Fred also enjoyed card games, was known as a bit of a pool shark, and was an accomplished bowler. Fred, at 96, was still enjoying bowling twice a week with his family and friends. He boasted a near perfect game while stationed in Korea, rolling one strike short of a perfect game. Fred loved a good joke, and his family remembers his laugh with fondness. Fred was a gentle and kind man and things as simple as a family dinner, especially with enchiladas, brought him great joy. He and Mabel also spent many years taking ballroom dance classes where they learned to waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha-cha, swing, and more.
Fred is survived by his daughter, Pearl Jackson and husband, Rick of Albuquerque, NM; and son, Kenneth Reincke and wife, Susan of Castle Rock, CO. Fred is also survived by his grandchildren, Keri (Bryan) Wolfmueller of Round Rock, TX, Nathan (Aubrey) Jackson of Albuquerque, NM, Lara (Daniel) Jimenez of Brighton, CO, Shane (Christy) Reincke of Peyton, CO, Matthew (Emma) Reincke of Littleton, CO, Tamara (Eric) Seaver of Littleton, CO, and Kelly Ohaver of Parker, CO. Fred had 19 great-grandchildren, Hannah (Isaac) Bolen, Andrew (Rebekah) Wolfmueller, Daniel Wolfmueller, Isaac Wolfmueller, Sydney Jackson, Emma Jackson, Emma Jimenez, Isley Jimenez, Noah Jimenez, DJ Jimenez, Kaden Reincke, Keagan Reincke, Wyatt Reincke, Evangeline Reincke, Ryan Gilida, Max Gilida, and Will Gilida. Fred was expecting his first great-great-grandson this July. He also leaves behind many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
