Flora (Martinez) Padilla

Padilla, Flora E., age 73, a longtime resident of Albuquerque died Thursday, August 19, 2021. She is survived by her two children, daughter Stephanie Mora and husband Brian Mora of Albuquerque; son, Eddie Cotton Padilla and wife Pamela of Corrales; grandchildren Zoe (9) and Zaiden (5) Padilla; sister Loretta Sanchez; brothers, Frank Martinez, Richard Martinez, James Martinez; and loving nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her father Severo Martinez; mother Estefanita Martinez; and sisters Ruth Armijo and Molly Romero.

Flora loved to hang out with her children and grandchildren. She looked forward to spending all the holidays and birthdays as a family. She really enjoyed shopping for gifts. She was a true giver. She always said it was better "to give than receive." Her favorite foods were Shrimp and Lobster and you never saw her not drinking a Dr. Pepper when she was eating a meal.

Flora enjoyed playing games, she loved to play Mrs. Pacman. She liked to play computer games, board games and always watched game shows on TV. Flora pastored a church for almost thirty years, Mending Broken Hearts Ministries - her focus was on helping people meet their full potential while serving the Lord. Before pastoring a church, Flora was involved in many ministries. She led initiatives for church fundraisers, counseled church members, was a Youth leader, involved for decades with the Prison Ministries. She traveled overseas to Amsterdam and Spain to evangelize. She bought a small school bus and would pick up homeless individuals every Sunday, feed them and take them to church. There was no ministry that Flora did not touch. She loved doing the Lord's work any way possible.

Service will be held on Friday, August 27th at Life Church, 4401 Northern Blvd NE Rio Rancho, NM 87124, 10:30 viewing, 11:00 service. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Pallbearers - Brian Mora, Frank Martinez, Richard Martinez, James Martinez, Augustine Armijo and Michael Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearer - Zaiden J. Padilla.
