Fern Noreen Knudsen

Just days before reaching her 103rd birthday, Fern N. Knudsen quietly slipped away home. For she had only been on loan to us to love and cherish. In prior weeks, Fern would ask us how a girl born in rural Cedar County, Nebraska ended up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She had always loved to travel. Fern would spend much of her life as an educator, counselor, wonderful mother and homemaker. Prior to retiring and later during retirement, she and her husband, Dale, enjoyed an adventurous time traveling extensively in the US, Canada, and abroad meeting new friends and old.

Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Dale, and son, Paul. Always grateful for her 102 years on this earth with a loved family of husband, three children, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, and five great grandchildren. Her warmth and beautiful smile will be missed. A Celebration of Life service will be held in December at St. Luke Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Roadrunner Food Bank.
