Evelyn Suggs

Evelyn Suggs, age 96, beloved mother, daughter, spouse, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister, was called to her eternal resting place on Friday, April 21, 2023. She entered this world on July 28, 1926, in Tarkio, MO, born to John and Roberta Lancaster. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Suggs, her parents, and her 3 brothers, Francis, Hubert and Oral Lancaster. Evelyn is survived by her daughter, Linda Thomas (Gary); stepdaughter, Sheryl Barrett; brother, Boyce Lancaster; 5 grandchildren: Megan Garcia, Kyle Thomas (Jess), Kurt Thomas (Janel), Geoff Luttrell (Heather), and Jennifer Hemmerling (Kuba); 11 great-grandchildren: Kayley Hutchison (Anthony), Tristan Garcia, Rylan and Kaelyn Thomas, Kacin and Kinley Thomas, Genevieve and Penelope Luttrell, Enzo Hemmerling, and Logan and Andrue Jones; and one great-great-grandson, Aiden James Hutchison, along with several nieces and nephews.

Evelyn was raised in Pauls Valley, OK, where she met and married James Suggs. They eventually settled in Albuquerque, NM where Evelyn was a homemaker. She was a master of the crossword puzzles and an amazing seamstress. Evelyn enjoyed many luncheons and fellowship time with her sisters in Christ whether it be out at a restaurant or in her home. More recently unable to attend church services in person, she was always excited to listen to Pastor Skip's message live on the radio. Evelyn was a devoted member of Calvary Chapel for over 35 years and loved to tell everyone that would listen how much she loved her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and how much He loved them too. Evelyn had the most generous and giving spirit and will be greatly missed. However, we rejoice that she is home with her Lord and that we will one day see her again.

"We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing......Yes, we are fully confident, and we would rather be away from these earthly bodies, for then we will be at home with the Lord." 2 Corinthians 5: 2, 8

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, May 01, 2023, at 10:00 a.m., FRENCH – University, followed by a Graveside Service at 11:15 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE Albuquerque, NM.
