Ernesto "Ernie" Gomez, born June 5, 1939, in Roswell, New Mexico, passed away on April 13, 2026, at the age of 86. A beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Ernest was known for his humor and love of golf; he brought joy, laughter and love to his wife, family and friends.

Ernest proudly served his country as a United States Air Force Veteran, serving over seas and in the states. His commitment and dedication to the military and Civil Service were hallmarks of his character, and his service will always be remembered with deep gratitude.

He resided in many military bases, retiring in Albuquerque, NM. Ernest was known for his unwavering loyalty and infectious sense of humor. His love for golf, family, and friends was a source of joy and peace throughout his life.

Ernest is survived by his loving wife, Virginia, son, Mike (spouse Ronalda); daughters Rebecca, Cindy (spouse Joe), grandchildren, Krystle, Matt, Shawna, Kylie, MJ, and great-grandchildren, Ysabella, Jackson, Jameson and Sunny; who will forever carry his memory in their hearts.

Funeral Services are being arranged by French Funerals and Cremations in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Burial will be scheduled with Military honors in Santa Fe National Cemetery.
