Listen to Obituary

Enid Sorenson (née Gerson) was born on August 30, 1937, in Cleveland, Ohio, and died on January 31, 2026, in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband of 23 years, Eric Sorenson.

Enid was a loving mother to Marilyn Mazzola Glawe, Sandi Dennis Mazzola, and Steven C. Mazzola (who precedes her in death). Enid also leaves behind her sister, Patsy Launspach; her grandchildren, Krista Kanuch, Erin Assink, Vanessa Dwyer, Shannon Mazzola, Steven J. Mazzola, Gail Dalton, and Robert Bayko; as well as many great and great-great-grandchildren.

In life, Enid had more talents than she ever gave herself credit for. She was an accomplished painter, architectural designer, actress, director, set designer, sculptor, and gardener. A lover of turtles, she delighted in feeding the ones who resided in her garden. She loved traveling the world with her husband, Eric, and made frequent trips to visit family across the country. Enid found joy in folk music, dancing, and all babies (even the ugly ones). Some of her fondest memories were spent at Ghost Ranch in New Mexico.

She will live on in the memories of those she leaves behind as a talented, classy, and generous woman. May she be reunited with those she loved most.
