Eloy Atencio of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on April 11th, 2026, at the age of 61.

Eloy was born on September 18th, 1964, to Juan Atencio and Cordilia Suazo in Espanola, New Mexico. After graduating from the University of New Mexico, Eloy became an electrical engineer.

Eloy married Ernestine in 1988, and together they shared 37 wonderful years. In his free time, he enjoyed watching movies, attending sporting events, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his wife, Ernestine; son, Matthew; and daughter, Ashley. He is also survived by his brothers, Paul (Jan) Atencio and Armando (Veronica) Atencio.

A Rosary will be held on Friday, May 1, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by a prayer service at 11:00 am at French Funerals - Westside Chapel. A graveside will be held at 12:30 pm at Mount Calvary Cemetery, 1900 Edith Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102, followed by a reception at 1:30 pm at French Funerals - Westside Reception Room.
