Elmer Ray Hackworth, Jr.

Elmer Ray ("Ray") Hackworth, Jr., age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 16, 2026. He was born on October 28, 1938, in Dillon, Arkansas to Elmer Ray, Sr. and Oma Anna Hull Hackworth.

In his professional life, he was a banker, primarily in Arkansas. He was an avid supporter of the Jaycee organization for over 50 years and received the highest honor from his peers of a JCI Senatorship 19564 in March 1975. In June 1987, he received a certificate for completing the curriculum of The School of Banking of the South from Louisiana State University and A&M College.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ann Horton and his son, Kevin Hackworth.

Ray is survived by his wife, Beverly of 66 years, a son, Tommy (Melanie) and a daughter, Suzanne Lawson (Eric). Also surviving are grandchildren, Allistaire, Anthony and Scott (Abby) Hackworth, Taylor Hackworth Lambeth (Chris) and Elizabeth DeAnn Lawson and one great-granddaughter, Ariella Hackworth.
