Edwina Nordberg, born May 27, 1938, went home to be with the Lord on January 31, 2026. She passed peacefully, surrounded by love, leaving behind a life defined by deep faith, quiet strength, generosity, and unwavering devotion to her family.
Edwina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Dr. Harry Nordberg, and by her parents, Juan and Josie Archuleta.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Kathleen Cantwell, and son-in-law, Kevin; her grandsons, Jonathan Cantwell and his wife, Shelby, and Mitchell Cantwell and his wife, Claire; and her precious great-grandsons, Camden and Brooks Cantwell, who brought her endless joy. She is also survived by her sisters, Betty Ann Moye and Martha Archuleta, and her nephews, Paul Moye and Jason Moye.
Early in her career, Edwina worked in Washington, D.C., for Senator Joseph Montoya before returning home to New Mexico. She later spent more than 30 years at Sandia National Laboratories, where she was known for her intelligence, dedication, and steady, dependable presence.
Family was the center of Edwina's world. She treasured time with her grandchildren and delighted in watching her family grow. She expressed her love through creativity-making jewelry to give away, sewing, gardening, crafting, and always finding small ways to bless others. She enjoyed working on her computer and staying connected, never missing a chance to check in on the people she cared about.
Edwina's faith was the foundation of her life. A devoted member of Grace Church for 32 years, she lived her faith quietly and consistently. She was active in Albuquerque Women of Vision in support of World Vision and was known by many as a faithful prayer warrior-someone you could always count on to pray, encourage, and show up with kindness. She had a gentle spirit, a generous heart, and a warm sense of humor that made people feel at ease.
A funeral service will be held at Grace Church on February 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to Albuquerque Women of Vision in support of World Vision. Donate to Women of Vision - Albuquerque NM ' World Vision
