Edwin Herman Gast "Ed" Msgt USAF Ret WWII Veteran passed away February 21, 2017. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary M. Gast and granddaughter, Kimberly "Kimi". Ed is survived by sons, Robert (Tina), Richard (Maria Teresa); 12 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Besides his wife, Ed's number one major passion was airplanes and flying. Ed built and flew several radio controlled airplanes into his early nineties. Ed also enjoyed camping, fishing, and hiking. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, March 2, 2017, 9:00 a.m. at Redeemer Lutheran Church, 210 Alvarado Dr. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87108. Interment will be in Santa Fe National cemetery, Friday, March 3, 2017, 9:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers please make a donation in Ed's name to the Veterans Integration Center, www.VIC.org.
