Major Edward G. Carr, age 94, a resident of Albuquerque since 1968 passed away early Saturday morning, August 15, 2026, peacefully at home. He was the son of George Carr and Julia Carr from New Brunswick, New Jersey. Edward was a graduate of New Brunswick high school and graduated in 1949. He received his bachelors degree through the University of Albuquerque and continued on to receive his masters degree through Highlands University. Edward served in the US Air Force as a Navigator from 1952 through 1972, and served in the Vietnam War. He was a combat, decorated, air force officer. He then went on to work for Ross Aviation for 25 years as chief dispatcher. During his retirement, he delivered phone books to communities in Albuquerque until the company closed its doors.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Carr. The love of his life and that is why he chose to reunite with her on their anniversary. It would have been their 73rd. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Julia Reeves. He is survived by his other children, Susan Carr, Amy Gorman, Edward G. Carr Jr., Kathleen Carr, and David Carr (all reside in the Albuquerque area); ten grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren. He came from a large Hungarian family--sister, Hope (deceased); brother, Raymond (deceased); sister, Wilma (deceased); sister, Emma and; brother, George; and many other nieces and nephews.

Ed had the best sense of humor. He was very quick-witted, very intelligent, very charismatic. He made friends wherever he went. Everybody loved him. He was very easy-going. His motto was whatever, he was a very hard worker, he was always positive. He always said he was in the right place at the right time his entire life, and he really was. He enjoyed fishing, playing poker, streaming YouTube, playing card games with the family, doing crossword puzzles, very long walks, and traveling cross-country with his wife to visit friends and family.

Memorial Services will be held Friday, September 25, 20326, 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University, flower arrangements for the services will be graciously accepted at French.
