Roy died on September 28, 2026, after a long history of an autoimmune disorder, chronic pain and recent ICU hospitalizations. He requested no viewing, no memorial service and cremation upon his death. Roy was born on July 14, 1953, to Maria Delia Abeyta Brisky (March 28, 1925 to December 17, 2008) and to Edward John Brisky (December 27, 1920 to December 7, 2014). He was the only son and brother to Marie Antoinette "Toni" Brisky and to Amy Brisky. Roy knew by the age of 8 that he would serve his country. He chose the Navy and was a "fresh air snipe" on the Kitty Hawk and the Ranger. He said "I hated the Navy but I loved my ships". Upon returning home to Albuquerque Roy worked at Stubblefield Printing until he retired. Roy's passions were family, animals, photography, cooking, gardening and music. His musical library contained thousands of compositions encompassing the continuum of musical genres and eras. His preferred day was at home, listening to music, cooking and enjoying life with his family. His preferred pastime was reading fiction. Roy read several books weekly without fail. Roy married Martha Tinkcom on September 11, 1997. Their fur family includes multiple dogs, cats, turtles and fish along with caretaking quail, mourning doves and the resident hawk. Roy was private, an extreme introvert, and beholden to the values taught by his parents and the military. His military oath "to support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic..." guided him through his 73 years. He is missed by those who knew him. He is loved forever.
