It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Edward Frank Bisetti, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Edward passed away on August 20, 2024, at his home in Albuquerque, NM, at the age of 84.
Born to Marie and Tony Bisetti in Brilliant, NM on July 22, 1940, he moved to Raton, NM at an early age. Ed and his younger brother Robert were raised in a good Italian home with a strong influence from both the Bisetti and Donati families. "Fast Eddie" as he was known in his teenage years, attended Raton High School, Home of the Tigers. He was a standout football player on the Tiger's 1956 State Champion team, and their 1957 State Runners-up team. Graduating from Raton High School in 1958, Ed continued his education and football career at Pueblo Junior College. He later finished his education at the University of New Mexico, earning his Master's Degree in education.
Ed taught high school math and coached football in Raton and Albuquerque, NM for thirty-four years. Twenty nine of those years were spent at Eldorado High School, the Home of the Eagles. He was extremely proud to be an Eagle, and even more proud of the lives he touched as a Teacher and a Coach. He married the love of his life, Jeanine, on June 15th, 1968, and they had two sons, Jason and Damon. Jason attended Ed's rival school, Sandia High, and while Ed didn't enjoy having to play against his oldest son, he did enjoy cheering him on. Later on, Ed stated that one of his greatest joys was teaching and coaching his youngest son, Damon. He felt every father should be able to coach his son. As an Eagle, Damon excelled on the gridiron just like his father.
After retirement Ed enjoyed attending his Grandchildren's events, whether it be rodeos, golf tournaments, flag football games, or school plays, spending time with family and friends meant so much to him. He loved following his Eldorado Eagles, UNM Lobo Football and Basketball, and Notre Dame Football. You'd often hear him reminiscing about past events and of games won and lost.
Ed will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him, his infectious smile, and contagious laugh. Time to fly like an Eagle!
Ed is survived by his wife of fifty-six years, Jeanine, son Jason (Lisa), son Damon (Amy), grandchildren Jade, Cody, Whitney, Alyssa, Brody, brother Robert (Donna). He also leaves many cherished in-laws, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Marie, father Tony Bisetti, grandmother Helen, and grandfather Frank Donati.
Ed requested to be cremated. A Celebration of Life will be held on October 5, 2024, as an open house from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm. Please visit his memorial website for additional details through the link below: https://everloved.com/life-of/edward-bisetti/
