Listen to Obituary

Edna Janette (Robbins) Richardson, known to all as “Jackie” entered into her heavenly rest on August 2, 2026, in Albuquerque, NM.

Jackie was born on December 25, 1934, in Fowler, Indiana to Russell and Marie (Jenkins) Robbins. She had a brother, Larry, and a sister, June.

Jackie attended Fowler High School, where she played piano and oboe in the band. She graduated in 1953 and moved to California to attend Pasadena Nazarene College. After two years of college, she moved to El Paso, TX where her brother Larry lived and was in the Airforce.

In El Paso, she attended First Church of the Nazarene, where she met Robert Lewis (Bob) Richardson. Jackie and Bob were married in Nov. of 1957. The Richardsons continued to live in El Paso for ten years and were blessed with the birth of three sons, Michael, Kurt, and Eric.

Bob’s work with the Border Patrol eventually moved the family several places around the country, including Pennsylvania, several Texas assignments, and Albuquerque, where they settled after Bob took a position with Immigration Inspection.

In Albuquerque, the family attended Los Altos Church of the Nazarene, Sandia Church of the Nazarene, where Jackie served as church receptionist, and eventually settled in at First Church of the Nazarene.

Wherever life took them, Jackie was primarily the one who made the home for the family. She also made sure the family was in church every Sunday. She would lead the family of adventures camping as they pulled their camp-trailer all over the country to see parks and to visit relatives. In every circumstance, she was chief cook and homemaker for the family.

As her family left the house, Jackie worked for several years for De Puy in a clerical position until Bob’s retirement in 1982. After that, they enjoyed many camping adventures together.

Bob passed into the arms of Jesus on June 7, 2016. His final instructions to his sons were, “Take care of your mother,” which they did as her condition deteriorated due to Parkinsons and other diseases.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister and brother-in law, Roy and June (Robbins) Fitzgerald; and her brother and sister-in law, Larry and Dorothy (Dudley) Robbins.

Surviving are her sons: Michael Richardson of Albuquerque, NM, Kurt and Susan (Stults) Richardson, of Las Cruces, NM, and Eric and Su Richardson of Lawton, OK;

Three grandchildren: Anita, Joshua, Chris, and; one great grandchild: Elias.
