Eddie Mann passed away peacefully at the age of 89 on December 11, 2025, with loved ones at his side. He was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on April 2, 1936. Eddie graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1955. Entered the US Navy in 1956 serving 4 years on the USS Compass Island EAG-153, a ship that advanced navigational research systems including the Polaris Missile program where he was awarded Good Conduct Medal.
Following his military service, he became a licensed plumber until he retired in 2001. He was known for expert gardening and his surprising good luck at horse racing and casinos where he enjoyed playing slot machines
He was very kind, good-hearted, and generous to many charitable organizations, especially veteran and animal related organizations. He loved all of God's creatures including birds, dogs, and even a few stray cats he lovingly adopted.
He was a man of deep faith. Eddie lived with a Christ-like spirit that was evident in his kindness, generosity, humility, and patience. He loved God and constantly prayed for everyone he knew. He always shared his love, by saying "Remember, God Loves you and so do I!"
He was preceded in death by his father, Dewey Mann, his mother and stepfather, Fannie and Joe Armijo, and brother, Philip Mann.
He is survived by his siblings, brother Dewey Jr and Charlotte Mann, Sister Lorraine and David Bratt; many beloved nieces and nephews; his partner and the love of his life of 42 years, Connie Gutierrez and granddaughter, Vanessa and Edward Alderete, Jr., children and grandchild.
The family would like to thank all the doctors and staff at the VA hospital, UNMH Trauma Unit and UNMH Critical Care Intensive Care Unit for their loving and compassionate care.
