Dyxie Wilkerson

Dyxie Wilkerson, 99, beloved Mother, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2017. She was born on May 27, 1918 in Seiling, OK to Harry and Ella Canaday.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan McCasland Wilkerson and son-in-law, Neil McCasland.
Dyxie was raised in western Oklahoma and attended Oklahoma State University through a master's degree in English literature. In 1945 she and her mother moved to California. Dyxie continued studies toward a Ph.D. at Stanford and University of Southern California. She settled in San Diego where she met and married E.D. (Inky) Wilkerson. She remained in San Diego for 67 years until she moved to Albuquerque to be near her only child, Susan.
