Duane T. Broshious

September 7, 1936 — June 16, 2024

Duane T. Broshious, 87, beloved husband, father, and grandfather was called home on Sunday, June 16, 2024. Our father was born in Oakland, California on September 7, 1936. He proudly served in the United States Air Force from 1954 to 1958. He met his future bride, Delores J. Williams, in Albuquerque, New Mexico while stationed at the Sandia Air Base. They married and started their family with the birth of our sister, Diane Marie. After his four-year enlistment, they moved to Northern California where they expanded their family with Debra Denise, Daniel Carl and David Glen.

Our father was the Director of Data Processing for Bernalillo County in New Mexico and started the first automated voter registration system in the state. Throughout his career, he successfully expanded computerized services throughout New Mexico.

He was a very dedicated Lion's Club member for over fifty years, receiving the Melvin Jones Award in 1993. He continued with many altruist activities until 2022. He was an avid supporter of the New Mexico Eye Bank.

Duane was preceded in death by his wife of fifty-three years; his brothers, Robert and Billy; daughter, Diane Marie; and grandsons, Joshua, Elijah, and Dominic.

He is survived by his three children: daughter, Debra Denise and husband, Robert Asbridge; son, Daniel Carl and partner, Melinda Garza; and son, David Glen and wife, Deborah Liu; five grandchildren: Candi Dean, Corey, Ben, David Shane Broshious and wife, Briana, and Stephanie and husband, Jason Ellison; and five great-grandchildren: Brandon, Cannon, Cash Broshious, and Henry and Olivia Ellison.
