Glenn Houston Miller was born on June 15, 1920 to Ruby Bowles Miller and David Norman Miller in Washington, D.C. Glenn received his undergraduate degree from Wake Forest College, and his PhD in Physics from Cornell University in New York. On October 19,1945 he married Elizabeth Mary (Betty) Allan who preceded him in death. Glenn worked as a Professor at Iowa State, the University of Virginia, the University of Denver, and Sandia National Laboratories where he retired. Glenn is survived by three children: son Quentin Miller and wife, Docia, daughter Tracie M. Wade, and daughter Clare Miller Culpepper and husband, Robert. Glenn is also survived by the following grandchildren: Shalene R. Alesch and husband, Kevin, Joshua S. Miller, and wife, Jennie, Joseph L. Miller and wife, Rachel, Michelle A. Miller, Jeffrey P. Miller and wife, Laura, Jenna Lea Garcia and husband, Alonzo, Derek Malkhassian, Dawn Clayton Miller; and 14 great grandchildren. Glenn was a member of the Civitan Club, the Professional Investment Club, and taught numerous bible study classes. Glenn was always a southern gentleman who lived his life with unselfish compassion and love and will be missed by many. Cremation has taken place and services will be held on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation be made to the American Cancer Society.
