In Loving Memory of Douglas Cook born August 4th,1951 - April 13th, 2024. Doug passed away peacefully at his home in Placitas, NM surrounded by family after a short Illness.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife and life partner of 43 years, Nancy C. Cook, his mother, Gratis (Granny) Cook, father, Calvin Cook, and sister Suzette, along with his bulldog best friends, Dozer and Samson.

A U.S. Navy Veteran, Doug retired from a long career at Varian Medical Systems and was a 40-year member of the Free and Accepted Masons of Illinois. Doug traveled the world making many great friends along the way.

Doug leaves behind a brother, Jerry Cook (Sandra). He is lovingly remembered by his seven children: Debbie, Denise, Dennis (Sandy), Denette, Deneen, Daniel (Lisa), and Dellana. He also leaves behind his nephew, Jeremy (Kelly), and their two children, Julian and Lucas, along with his niece Niki (Aleko) and nephew Zachary. He is also blessed to be remembered and cherished by his nine grandchildren: Sierra (Courtland), Tristin, Rachel (Erik), Weston, Dashel, Reed, Chloe, Sophia, and Ella.

Doug will forever be remembered as a loving son, brother, husband, father, uncle, Papa, and friend. He made many wonderful and deep connections during his life's journey. In his spare time, he enjoyed cooking (making bread), playing guitar, riding his Harley, shooting his guns, and learning about new technology. He was a man of many hobbies, and always had a joke to tell. Throughout his life he has achieved success in living fully, laughing often, and loving hard. Doug was an impossible person to forget as he has given his loved ones so much to remember him by. His acts of kindness and love will forever impact his friends and family.
