Doris Corbin Johnson, of Albuquerque, NM, dedicated wife, mother and grandmother, passed away July 7, 2016. Doris loved to serve and was involved in many community, family and church events throughout her long and productive life.
Doris was born July 31, 1925 in Greybull, WY. She attended the University of Wyoming and was awarded a Bachelor's and Master's Degree in Home Economics.
After teaching in Laramie, WY for several years, she spent two years teaching dependent children on U.S. Air Force Bases in Morocco and Germany. She visited Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Doris returned and continued to teach in Cheyenne, WY where she was married in 1962. From there, Doris taught in Jefferson County, CO and finally settled in Albuquerque. Doris was a dedicated substitute teacher for APS for over 40 years. She had a passion for life and never stopped learning. She enjoyed music and singing in choirs, entertaining, traveling, teaching, reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 54 years, Keith Johnson; her daughter, Paula Cuevas; her son, Michael Johnson; her five grandchildren, Andrea, Emilie, Zachary, Briana and Ryan; and her brother, Robert Corbin of Cody, WY. Doris also leaves many cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, July 30, 2016, at 10:30 a.m. at St. Andrew Presbyterian Church, 5301 Ponderosa Ave. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110.
