Doris Herrmann

Doris Marie Herrmann died peacefully at home on May 1st, 2024. Born in Waterloo, Iowa to Guy and Martha Bass on July 30, 1929. She had two younger brothers, Harold and Glenn. Doris with her husband David, moved to Farmington, Minnesota to begin a new chapter in their lives. After they retired they chose to move to Albuquerque, NM in 1990.

Her 94 years of life were filled with gardening, china painting, traveling, sewing, and spending quality time with family and friends. Working at several different jobs brought her joy because she loved meeting new people. Volunteering at church, a hospital, 2 zoos and being a host mother for 2 exchange students was very meaningful as well. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, David Herrmann, after 53 years of marriage and is survived by her son Joel, (Bridget) their sons Sam, Matthew and Nicholas, and great grandchildren Ruby and Samuel Jr., and her daughter Mary, (Jim) and their daughters Florence and Martha.  Countless other loved ones across the world will miss her warm smile and sunny disposition.

A memorial service will be held at Cross of Hope Lutheran Church on May 18, 2024, at 2:00pm.
