Donna Pauline, 66, died gently and surrounded by love early in the morning of January 21, 2018. She was born October 17, 1951 in Birmingham, AL. Donna was a graduate of Woodlawn High School in 1969 and attended the University of South Alabama at Montevallo where she studied theater. Donna completed her education many years later when she graduated from Fort Lewis College in 2004 Summa Cum Laude with her bachelor’s degree in anthropology. Donna married Robert Coberly in 1974 and divorced in 2003. They had one daughter whom she adored.
Donna was a woman of many passions and talents. She loved to travel, and spent time in Ireland, Italy, and Greece. She also loved and pursued all manner of fiber and textile arts and gave her work freely to her friends and family. Her greatest gift was her beautiful voice. Donna was a singer with extraordinary talents, performing for many years in Durango CO with the band Since Never and other groups. Her proudest vocal work was the more than fifteen years singing with the Crow Women. She relished the challenge of each new song and poured her heart into producing numerous recordings and performing at dozens of concerts.
Donna is preceded in death by her sister Patricia Jones, and her mother June (Gail) Talton. Donna is survived by her father Bobby Joe Talton, her daughter Gaia Faust, the son of her heart Freeman Faust, and her two beloved grandchildren Sofya & Leo Faust. She is also survived by nieces Gail Sammons (Darrell), Ester Shifflett (Danny), nephew Kenny Jones (Bridget) as well as their children. She is also survived by the family of her creation. In particular Dona Fleming, Sylvia Koehler, Alane Brown, Tristan Fin, Jenny Rice, John & Tiffany Bjelke, Marianne Bjelke and so many others.
A private service will be held Saturday January 27th, and a festive gathering in her honor will be held in late March. Details TBD.
