DONNA LAVERNE WATSON HUGGINS

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Donna Laverne Watson Huggins on November 25, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1945, in Wheeler, Texas to Lucky and Mildred Watson. She married Clive B. Huggins on October 7, 1967, in Plainview, Texas and raised three daughters together. She worked her entire career in the legal field as a billing clerk or Legal Secretary. She was an extremely hard worker providing for her husband and daughters always putting them first. There was never a morning that mom did not get up at 4:30 a.m., to clean the house (that was already clean) before she went to work.

Donna is preceded in death by her husband, Clive, her parents Lucky and Mildred Watson, brothers, Doyce, Marshall, Leon, Phillip, Dwight and baby Ronnie and sister, Cheryl. Also preceding her in death were her in-laws, Otis and Carol Dean Huggins, brothers-in-law, Carroll Huggins and Carrol Lackey and sister-in-law, Alice Huggins.

A beloved mom, grandmother, gigi, sister and aunt, Donna is survived by her three daughters, Misti Smyth (Bill) of Pagosa Springs, Stephanie Stovall (Nathan) of Rio Rancho and Leslie Huggins of Albuquerque. Six grandchildren: Mitchell, Megan (Dillon), Amanda (Eric), Keaton, Johnny (Rosenda) and Ashley and six great-grandchildren: Sky, Jax, Cooper, Ayla, Charlotte and Colt. Also surviving Donna is her sister JoAnn, brothers Gene (Sheila), Carrol Wayne (Karen), and Ricky (Sharon); sisters-in-law Laura, Colleen, Alicia, Becky and Donna (Scott) as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held on December 13, 2025, at 1 p.m. CST at the First Baptist Church in Wheeler, Texas officiated by her nephews, Randy Lackey and Rev. Drew Travis. A joint burial service will immediately follow at the Wheeler Cemetery for our parents and their beloved dog, Joey.
