Kaye Don "Don" Weaks passed away peacefully on February 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Don was born on April 27, 1932, in Flint, Michigan, to Otto Dwight Weaks and Mary Beatrice Weaks.
Don later moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where he graduated from Albuquerque High School. Shortly after graduating, he proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War.
Following his service, Don began a long and dedicated career with Mountain Bell at the age of 22. He remained with the company until his retirement at age 53. Never one to stay idle, Don continued working for several years in the communications center at Sandia Labs and later spent time working in landscaping.
Don was married to the love of his life, Nancy Weaks, who preceded him in death ten years ago. Together they built a life centered around family, friendship, and adventure. Don and Nancy especially enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing, and boating with family and friends, creating countless memories that will be cherished by those who shared those experiences with them.
Above all else, Don loved his family. He is survived by his daughters, Robin Weaks and Donna Garcia and her husband Jeret. He was a proud grandfather to Derek, Marisa, Jalysse, and Sarah, and a loving great-grandfather to Lilliana, Keaton, Micah, and Rosalie.
He is preceded in death by his sisters, Vernal Bell and Joyce Harmon, and his brother, Otto Dwight Weaks Jr., as well his father and mother.
Don will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his strong work ethic, and the joy he found in spending time with those he loved. His legacy lives on in the many lives he touched and the memories shared by family and friends.
He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
