Diane Braden Holdridge

Diane Braden Holdridge, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 28, 2026, at the age of 91. Diane was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Holdridge. She was born on October 3, 1934, in Dawson, New Mexico. Diane brought warmth and joy to everyone around her throughout her life. She lived in Albuquerque, NM, where she worked for 30 years as a mathematician / computer programmer at Sandia National Labs.

Outside of work, Diane was a vibrant soul with a wide range of interests. She loved to knit, always having a project on some knitting needles somewhere in the house. Reading was a daily delight, and she took pleasure in devouring books that transported her to different worlds. Diane also enjoyed all of the daily puzzles in the newspaper that kept her mind sharp, and she could frequently be seen tending to her garden, sharing baby plants with anyone who wanted them.

An active member of her community, Diane made lasting friendships with her neighbors, her work friends and her church friends. She very much enjoyed the local gang of neighborhood dogs that she saw on a regular basis during her walks or from her spot at the kitchen table in front of the window. She found joy in biking and swimming, always seeking new adventures. Diane is survived by her loving daughter Lori Tonder, her cherished grandchildren, Travis Tonder and Logan Ricco, and her great granddaughter, Giovanna.

Diane's warmth, intellect, cheerfulness and loving spirit will be missed by all who knew her.

A service will be held on October 9, 2026, at 3 pm at First Unitarian Church located at 3701 Carlisle Blvd NE, a reception will follow.
