Delmar John Klinetobe, known to his friends as Del, passed away on March 1, 2026, at the age of 83.

Del was born on June 18, 1942. He made his home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, in 1962, and it remained his home for the rest of his life. He spent 38 years at Sandia National Laboratories, where he built a career he could be proud of and friendships that lasted a lifetime.

Those who knew Del knew a man of quiet warmth, good humor, and genuine kindness. He didn't ask for much and never sought the spotlight. He loved God, loved his family, and showed it every day in the way he lived.

He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Iona Klinetobe; his sons, William Klinetobe and Steve Klinetobe (Julie); and his three grandchildren, Olivia, Henry, and Megan Klinetobe.

A Celebration of Life will be held later this spring. Details to be announced.
