Deborah A. Gárcia-Sánchez, 09/08/1958 - 08/09/2024. Debbie earned her heavenly wings and entered into our Lord’s arms peacefully after a hard fight with cancer.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Al Sánchez; sons, Mark Sánchez and Matthew Gárcia; grandchildren, Ashton, Rowan, Dylan and the love of her life, Savana; sister, Kathy Gárcia-Wilson; brothers, Don, Dee, and Ray Gárcia. Debbie was preceded in death by parents, Stephen and Donna Gárcia; and son, Daniel Sánchez.
Debbie will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She was a well-respected Project Manager/Engineer for the Department of Energy, Sandia Site Office. Debbie retired in 2014, a lifelong Albuquerque resident and moved to Quemado, NM. She was an active member of the Catron NM Veterans Group and Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed fishing and outdoor photography. Her passion was running and participated in many running events. Her hobby was carving and painting elaborate gourds.
I would like to thank the staff at the UNMH Comprehensive Cancer Center for all they tried to combat her cancer and to the entire staff at the White Mountain Regional Medical Center and Accord Hospice Care in Springerville, AZ. Their care and compassion was outstanding and made Debbie comfortable until her passing.
Services will be held Monday, September 9, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Albuquerque, NM.
