David Baumann

After a life filled with lots of love, endless bargaining and a fair share of dad jokes, David Christopher Baumann, 64, passed away unexpectedly in his home on Friday, November 10, 2023. Dave was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on September 17, 1959, to Richard and Barbara Baumann. His family moved to New Mexico in his early childhood, and he met the love of his life, Anna (Barela) as a college student. They were married for 37 years and had two daughters, Michelle and Aundria.

Although Dave loved his wife and children immensely, his favorite role was being "Poppi" to Jude, Lucy, and Gianna. He cherished the days that were spent playing, dancing and going on adventures with his 3 beautiful grandchildren.

Dave loved the outdoors, hiking and spending quality time with family and friends. There was rarely a hike where he didn't exclaim, "It's just around the corner!" and then proceed to endure 10 more miles. He was also a man of devout faith and his main goal in life was to live like the saints and to make it to heaven. There is no doubt in our minds that he is there now, laughing with all of his loved ones who made it there before him.

He is survived by his wife, Anna Baumann; his daughters Michelle Mares (Mike) and Aundria Koprowski (Brandon); his grandchildren Jude & Lucy Mares and Gianna Koprowski; his mother, Barbara Baumann; and 7 siblings, Dan Baumann (Agnes), Mark Baumann (Tammy), John Baumann (Sue), Jane Widner (Johnny), Alan Baumann (Larissa), Mary Bultman (Gary), Ann Koepp (Karl) and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation and Rosary will be on Monday, November 20, 2023, from 5:00-7:00 pm at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church (the Rosary will begin at 6:00 pm). The funeral Mass will also be held at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church on Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at 11:00 am.
